I've been studying the schematic for the A520HD to better understand the process of converting RGB to YPbPr. I believe that I've come to understand how it works, but my new question is how the designer found appropriate values for the resistors.
From Wikipedia: Y = 0.2126 R + 0.7152 G + 0.0722 B
or as a ratio,
0.2126
0.7152
0.0722
Hi, I have an A520HD that I'm using with an Amiga 500. When I have it connected to an older Mitsubishi Projection TV it works fine but when I connect it to newer devices the displays never detect the signal.
I'm using an NTSC Amiga and every display and receiver that I've tried supports 60Hz as a refresh rate. I've tried an RCA TV, a Yamaha receiver, and a component to HDMI converter, all with no luck. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do to make it work with the newer devices?

All GGLABS component HDTV converters support both NTSC and PAL.
Component video, like RGB, is color system independent as it does not use color any modulation.
The only requirement for the display device is the vertical refresh frequency (50HZ for PAL and 60HZ for NTSC).
