Hello,
I have 4 of you F2R16's that I purchased a while ago. Now that AmigaOS 3.1.4 is out I want to burn the ROM to my cool new toys. I have a GQ-4X programmer and it negatively supports the 27c400 chips and the 29F400T or B. Do you know if it would be possible to just put in the F2R16 in the GQ-4x and tell it it is a 27C400? I guessing it would blow up the 29F400, but not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately is not possible to program the F2R16 like a 27C400.
However, if the programmer support the 29F400 (or similar) it is possible to make a simple adapter.
The GQ-4x can program the
The GQ-4x can program the 29F400 if you have the ADP-072 adapter. I have both the ADP-054 adapter to allow program 27C400 and the ADP-072, TSOP48 adapter to allow it to program 29F400 chips. I would think your F2R16-PROG board work work expect for that the form factor is too narrow for the ADP-072 adapter. Here is the website page for the adapter.

Not an advertisement, I just want to be able to use the product I already have vs, buying a new setup.
Programming adapter
Yes, this will work electrically. However you will still need to wire up an adapter to connect the pins to the F2R16.
Something similar to the F2R16-PROG
