RAMGS

Howdy. I have a RAMGS/8 (from ebay) which works fine in both of my ROM1 machines, but fails in my ROM3 machine. I get random junk on the screen, similar to what one would expect from bad RAM, but it seems to group together in the upper left rather than being completely random.

It doesn't do it immediately, only after the machine has been on for 20 or 30 seconds.

I've tried swapping power supplies, in case my 5v rail in the ROM3 is poor, but no change.

Just so you know, the RAMGS/8 is NOT compatible with the zip gsx accelerator.
Dunno why it's not compatible, the RAMGS/8 works fine in the other two un accelerated rom 01 I have here,
and works perfectly well in my rom03 if I remove the zip gsx card. I'm betting the zip gsx simply won't work with 8 meg cards.

Put the kit together. Cannot get it to load the OS (from HD) or anything else.
Red bar goes all the way and nothing happens. My old 1Meg card works fine.
Using GS - ROM01.

I got a RAMGS-S4 on eBay with 1MB of RAM. Can I get a 4MB or 8MB SIMM for this and upgrade?

RAMGS-MAX only supports 8MB configurations despite the board silkcreen information.
All DRAM sockets must be populated and all jumpers must be installed for proper operation.

The card can be configured for 1, 2 or 4MB. Refer tot he following table for jumper configuration and memory placement.

Both RAMGS and RAMGS-MAX accept most fast page mode 1Mx4 DRAMs in the ZIP-20 package. Refer to the table below for part numbers.
